A wheel bonus is a feature in which a wheel divided into segments is spun, and the segment where it stops decides the award: a cash prize, a multiplier, free spins, a jackpot or a further wheel.
The segments look equal but the odds behind them need not be. The RNG picks the outcome, and segments for the biggest prizes can be weighted to land far less often than their size on screen suggests. As with a near miss, a wheel stopping one segment short of the top prize was no closer to it.
Wheel features are common in jackpot games, where the wheel decides which jackpot level is won, and in game-show-themed slots. Their value is part of the published RTP. See our wheel bonus feature page.
