Bonus round

A special feature inside a slot, triggered during play, that plays differently from the base game and often pays more.

A bonus round is a feature within a slot that is triggered during normal play and runs by different rules from the base game. It is usually where a game's largest wins are possible.

The commonest kinds are:

  • Free spins, played at your triggering stake with enhancements such as multipliers or sticky wilds.
  • Hold and win rounds, where cash symbols lock in place while respins reset.
  • Pick bonuses, where you choose items to reveal prizes.
  • Wheel bonuses, where a wheel is spun for a prize or feature.

Bonus rounds are usually triggered by scatters or bonus symbols. Their value is built into the game's RTP: a game that pays more in features pays less in the base game. You cannot buy entry on GB-licensed sites, because bonus buy is not offered there.
