Hold and win

A bonus where cash or coin symbols lock in place and respins reset each time a new one lands, often with fixed jackpots.

Hold and win is a bonus round in which special cash symbols lock in place and you get a small number of respins, often three. Each time a new cash symbol lands, it locks and the respin count resets. The round ends when you run out of respins or fill the screen.

At the end, the values on all locked symbols are added together and paid. Many games include fixed jackpot symbols, often labelled Mini, Minor, Major and Grand, and filling every position commonly awards the top prize.

The feature goes under many names, including hold and spin, lock and spin and link and win, and is closely related to cash on reels and money collect mechanics. It is usually triggered by landing a set number of cash symbols in the base game. See our hold and win feature page.
