The rule
Gamstop Online (renamed from GAMSTOP in November 2025) is the free national online self-exclusion scheme for Great Britain: a person registers once and is blocked from every licensed online operator for 6 months, 1 year or 5 years. All online licensees must take part (LCCP social responsibility code 3.5.5) and check their customers against it. A separate service, Gamstop Betting Shops (formerly MOSES), covers high-street bookmakers.
Who it applies to
All holders of remote (online) gambling licences serving British customers
What it means for you
- Every online operator licensed in Great Britain must take part, and must check customers against it.
- Once an exclusion starts it cannot be cut short.
- Sites that advertise themselves as "not on GAMSTOP" are not licensed in Great Britain. We never link to them. Get help.
