xWays is a mechanic from Nolimit City in which a special symbol lands, then reveals itself as several copies of one randomly chosen symbol stacked in the same position. That increases the number of ways to win on the spin.
Because the extra symbols are on one reel, they multiply the ways count for that reel. Two or more xWays symbols on different reels can raise the total sharply, which is how these games build large ways counts without the fully random reel heights of Megaways.
The revealed symbols all match, so the feature has a mystery symbol element too: the result depends on which symbol is chosen. xWays games from Nolimit City are generally high volatility, and the studio uses it alongside other named mechanics. See our xWays feature page.
