LCCP (Licence Conditions and Codes of Practice)

The Gambling Commission's main rulebook for licensees, setting conditions on fairness, safer gambling, marketing and more.

The LCCP, the Licence Conditions and Codes of Practice, is the Gambling Commission's main set of rules for gambling businesses in Great Britain. It sits alongside the Remote Technical Standards, which handle the technical side.

Licence conditions are binding; breaching them can lead to fines or loss of a licence. Codes of practice include social responsibility provisions, which are also binding, and ordinary provisions, which set out expected good practice.

Areas it covers include protecting children and vulnerable people, age and identity checks, customer interaction where someone may be at risk of harm, self-exclusion, marketing and bonuses, complaints and dispute resolution, and how customer funds are handled. The bonus rules, such as the 10x cap on wagering from 19 January 2026, are delivered through licence conditions. See UK slot rules.
